S. Miertus, ICARST Director General, was a guest of the talkshow " Night
Pyramid" of Slovak Radio SRo 1 talking about results of recent research in
development of antiviral drugs and other issues.

Top chemist and biotechnologist. He specialises in the development of new drugs, now for example Covid 19. He works at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava in the Department of Biotechnology and partly at the International Centre for Applied Research and Sustainable Technologies ICARST in Bratislava, which has an office in Trieste. He also worked at the Institute of Polymers of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and for 20 years at the International Centre for Science in Trieste. Graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Technology of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. He lives in Bratislava and occasionally in Trieste. He comes from Banská Štiavnica. He enjoys sports, golf, tennis and skiing. His heart is travelling, he has visited more than 80 countries around the world and has also travelled around the world. His country is Slovakia, but also Italy and Peru. He enjoys painting, loves to explore the visual arts, especially the impressionists and loves opera.
